POSITANO: LE SIRENUSE

AMALFI COAST, ITALY
PHOTO GALLERY
A patrician house that has been turned into a hotel, Le Sirenuse is worth a visit even though you might not be staying here. At the top of via C. Colombo, the hotel has a lived-in elegance and the beautiful majolica-covered terrace is the perfect place for an afternoon drink. The restaurant, La Sponda, is one of the best in town, too, and the spa is exceptionally cool. Most of the rooms - which have white interiors and antique furniture - have views over Positano's harbour, and the bathrooms are large and luxurious.

Via C.Colombo, 30, Positano (39.089.875.066; www.sirenuse.it).
