The long-awaited Standard Hotel Miami has been an instant hit with visitors and locals alike, despite taking a very different approach from both its well-known sister properties in Los Angeles and the Miami boutique-hotel scene. With its opening, hotelier André Balazs has transformed the former Lido Spa Hotel and advanced the
spa-hotel concept, adding state-of-the-art facilities with the same tongue-in-cheek
style that launched the Standard brand. Playful touches and private soaking tubs make the bedrooms cute and cosy, while signature elements such as the Wall of Sound Shower, the Arctic Plunge and the Roman Waterfall Hot Tub make the grounds a wonderland for guests. Progressive therapies and innovative treatments, including an entire menu of do-it-yourself options, have earned the spa accolades in the short time since its January opening.
